This summer 2019, we hit the streets in and around Hudson Yards, the “new New York”, for this colorful editorial photo shoot. The purpose of our concept, “Dreaming in CMYK”, was to marry the color model used in color printing with the magical backdrop of New York City. Our model, Claire, with The Industry Model Mgmt, was our talent for this editorial piece.
Video directed by Andrés Hernandez and produced by Karen Gomez.
Music: “Blow My Mind” produced by Pablo Dominguez, written by Vanessa Andrade.
People primarily know me as a photographer, but one of my passions is video because it has the potential to translate emotion (sometimes) better than a still image. In the past I’ve had the opportunity to photograph music artists for promos and album covers. Now I’m evolving my career to include music videos. Here’s a sample of my latest work with up-and-coming Brazilian singer and song writer, Vanessa Andrade (@vanessafandrade). My goal for the creative treatment of “Blow My Mind”, Vanessa’s first music video, was to make it a true representation of who she is. By using a handheld camera, the visual approach was to be up close and intimate in a New York setting without being too “New York”.

Behind the scenes
Hearts and Healing Hands
In November 2016, the Healing Hands Foundation traveled to the small village of Patzun in Guatemala for their eighth humanitarian mission.
For four days, a group of forty dedicated medical and dental physicians from across the globe donated their time, expertise and care. Ninety-five surgeries and three hundred dental procedures were performed for nearly one hundred disadvantaged and in need patients.
As a special part of this mission, Colombian photographer Andres Hernandez documented the journey, capturing moments of hope, fear and happiness from men, women and children who faced urgent medical challenges, but who would ultimately receive life changing medical attention.
